Tanglefoot Ranch Launches Valentine’s Farm Dinner
Diverse Southern Illinois Farm Launches Farm Dinners Open to the Public
Simpson, IL: Farm to Fork Dinners have arrived in Southern Illinois featuring locally raised freshwater prawns. The public is invited to savor the tastes of Tanglefoot Ranch in a Valentine’s Farm Dinner, February 11th, 2017 at 7pm where Tanglefoot Ranch’s own freshwater prawns are on the menu. 35 special guests will step away from the rush of day to day life for an exclusive 3 course meal. Limited tickets are available for $40 per person (plus tax).
Tanglefoot Ranch is well-known for freshwater prawns, being the first Illinois prawn farm in the state. The idea for farming freshwater prawns sprung up as a means to generate additional revenue from land not conducive to normal farming practices. Tanglefoot Ranch owner Grover Webb explains “I wanted to come up with some valuable ideas and information for my friends and neighbors.” Seventeen years later, what started as bringing folks out to tour the innovative prawn operation has blossomed into Farm to Fork dinners at Tanglefoot Ranch.
