According to NASA predictions, Tanglefoot Ranch is in a prime location for some of the longest periods of totality – 2 minutes and 40 seconds! The farm’s 950 acres is located right in the heart of Southern Illinois, and is in the direct viewing path of the 2017 total solar eclipse. Tanglefoot Ranch is a working farm with cattle, produce, crops, freshwater shrimp, an event center and a peach orchard. We are planning a great event for your enjoyment on August 21st, 2017.
The day will include open field eclipse viewing. Guests are encouraged to bring and set up cameras and/or telescopes. Cold drinks and snacks will be served during the eclipse. Seating will be provided, but feel free to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
After the eclipse, guests will enjoy a sit-down dinner featuring Tanglefoot Ranch’s own freshwater shrimp and farm fresh produce along with other menu options. Alcoholic beverages will not be provided, but guests may feel free to bring their own wine. Tanglefoot Ranch will provide wine glasses and will be happy to chill your wine for you.
Also included in the package will be souvenirs; one of which will be a Tanglefoot Ranch Eclipse 17 t-shirt and glasses for eclipse viewing. This event is limited to 60 persons and is $96/person + tax. The location is handicap accessible, has ample parking on premises, and indoor facilities. Limited lodging (primitave camping/cabin) available at a minimal cost for persons who have purchased event tickets. This will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. If interested in lodging, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for availability prior to purchasing tickets. The event will start on the morning of the eclipse and continue until after the meal.
We can’t wait to see you soon!
